My truck gets hit

March 14th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I own a 1989 Toyota 4Runner that is an amazing little truck. Despite its age, it runs perfectly. It only has 140K miles on it, so it has a long life ahead of it.

My truck has had many experiences, from going to Memphis to see Elvis, to beng driven by the Jacobson brothers to Montana, to doing dump runs and being the personal valet of one Mr. Muggins esquire.

But in the last year, two things have happened to it that are just shocking! Just shocking I tell you!

Last year, it was stolen from the front of my little casa and I was told by the Santa Cruz Police that most likely it was already in a chop shop. The plates to the truck were soon found but not the truck. And two weeks later, just when I had come to terms with my beloved truck being gone, a good friend Dave J finds the truck near DeLaveage Park. So I get it back, none worse for its adventure.

Then last night happened.

I parked the truck in a public lot - under lights - so it would be safe over night because I was going to have a few bevies and wanted it to be in a safe place until I came back in the morning to pick it up.

At 11 pm, it was hit by a drunk driver - attacked it was!

Oh my poor truck……

Oh yeah, the police officer that took the report for the stolen vehicle was also there last night. And he remembered me!

Stay tuned for the insurance odyessy…..
