With the gears of work going 24 hours a day at Meta Magic Studio over the past three weeks, it has come to my attention that soda is a key component to keeping our little group running smoothly. Sure we do coffee, water and more junk food than is good, but soda consumption is out of control. And I am one of the main culprits of this addiction.
When we started the studio, it was agreed by the powers that be (the four of us) that we would have a small monthly budget for office consumables. Nothing outrageous like free food ala Google, nor did we want to do the “bring your own” stingy approach. But we felt two cases of soda, two cases of water and a couple pounds of coffee would do us fine. It was believed that $60 a month was good.
Yet with all of our purchases, it seems that we are always out of consumables. We were wrong.
On average, we are going through 2 cases of soda a week, a case of water and coffee is always out. Now, let me remind you all that I am only in the office 4 hours a week. But somehow, in those four hours I manage to consume three cans a visit, plus one or two cookies – and if I come in for a quick visit, at least one cup of coffee find its way into my stomach.
Jen and Dave claim they only have a couple of items a day. So do we blame it all on Dot? How can one person drink that much? (Dot sez that Jen and Dave have no clue about their consumption.)
So starting today, we have increased the soda / water / coffee budget to $120 a month. And we are making a monthly trip to Costco so we can keep our budget from exploding. And we all are promising to think before we drink.
Makes me laugh, our rental office (which we got a GREAT deal on) is only $500 a month. Then again, my sim rentals now are $390 a month. And my home office soda budget is a case a week.
