There is Money in Game Apps

Over at VentureBeat, they have posted an excellent article on Virtual goods starting to pan out for Facebook game app developers, and not just the venture-funded ones.

While this article talks about just application being built just for Facebook®, I see this type of economic opportunities happening all over the place.  I especially am intrigued with the Open Sim efforts.  From my limited  effort in Second Life® selling virtual goods, I saw the great potential in selling to others.  The key was the same business models as in real life, and the key was building the traffic before you can really start to monetize.

I do feel we need a better name than “virtual goods” in order to help jump past some of the sales barriers.  How about metaverse goods?
