Log Ins into Second Life throttled

August 24th, 2008 · 1 Comment

I tried to Login into Second Life. Was stopped at the gate. With a “on line now” of 62,235, I got a throttle message at 12:10 pm pst on Sunday. It read:

Login failed.

Due to higher-than-usual load, logins to Second Life have been temporarily disabled. We anticipate logins will be disabled for a short time.

Seems like another Sunday — and jeez, they got to be able handle at least 200K on line by now.

Refused again at 12:17pm.

Got in at 12:20 pm but with a performance notice - “Your clothing is still downlaoding. You can use Second Life normally and others will see you correctly.”

So if my clothes are still downloading, am I naked?

2:33 pm update - just got the usual Sunday transaction warning — makes me think they need more staffing on weekends –  I have personally given up doing any important building on Sundays
