Los Arboles in Second Life is an ever changing virtual environment designed to demonstrate building, textures and scripting done by Meta Magic Studio. At the beginning of this month, I began the 3rd major rebuild of the island with a goal having the majority of the work done by end of January.
The only three builds remaining were the Los Arboles Amphitheater, Rich’s brick house and Pirate Town (Cheerie and Lazy pad). Everything else was taken down, demolished and discarded including the oldest structure, the stone bridge which was originally built in December 2006.
The original plan for this third rebuild was that I wanted to create an Inca Temple for the Meta Magic Studio that was located on top of a spewing volcano. But when I laid it out, I hated the idea suddenly. So I went with a combination of retro and brick.
Why?
I have been working a lot in brick and have never been satisfied with it, so I want to play with it more. Plus the Night Owl would never look good in Inca stone.
Currently I am about 90% complete with just a few more major items plus lots of little tweaks that will go on for a few months.
