It has been almost 8 days since I last posted on the House Remodel so naturally lots of progress was made while my better half and I were gone on vacation.  So far the remodel is on schedule with the first city inspection scheduled for this week.

Day 8 of the remodel just completed a little early due to the huge storm coming in.  All of the key items are protected from the rain and they even tarped the Dude Shack.  Woot!

Day 5 of the remodel just ended, so I took a couple of pictures to share.  First some from day 4, the wood rot was torn out and wall rebuilt.  The window above the removed stucco will be replaced with a bay window.

Just a couple of items from yesterday of note.
Floor has been lowered which was a huge project but effectively done in one day.   Turns out when the remodel in 1994 was done, the foundation was poured to high which resulted in the floor being 1 3/4 inches higher than the rest of the house.

End of day 2 (Oct 6) saw lots of progress including removal of inside walls, sub floor, and insulation, along with a visit by the water department due to a broken old water valve.  It is amazing how much material was in this small area.  Work was non-stop from 8:30 am until 4 pm.
