Since I only go to the movie theaters about every six weeks, I can not claim to have seen most of the films in 2009. In fact, most of my movie viewing comes via Netflix. As always, these are just my opinions and disagreeing with me is the norm.
- The Hangover
- This movie just joined my iPhone library. For those of you who did not “get” the comedy, obviously you have never attended a real bachelor party. The best part was listening to my wife laugh at this movie.
- Avatar *
- I have been waiting on this movie for a long time. Please oh please be good! Could move into the number one spot.
- The Hurt Locker
- When friends that have served in Iraq tell you that this is the most truthful movie then you know it is a winner.
- A Serious Man
- Another winner from the Coen brothers.
- Inglourious Basterds
- The scene in the farm house is the BEST scene ever done in any movie and Brad Pitt made me laugh. Christopher Waltz should win an Oscar.
- Public Enemies
- I like 1930′s crime movies.
- Star Trek
- The geek boy in me enjoyed the whole romp and I could care less about time line changes. Me want more Trek!
- District 9
- A great geeky scifi surprise!
- Sugar
- I am a softy for baseball movies
- Extract
- Freaking funny movie. The best review: “I still haven’t gotten over the fact that “Extract” made less on opening weekend than the atrocious “All About Steve.” source – Chicago Metromix
* Avatar could go up or down on this list since I will be seeing it this weekend. Up in the Air may join the list since this is a upcoming date flick with my better half.
