Long time readers of Bananaverse know that I am a huge fan of Kiva. Today I loaned $25 to Eunice Omollo of Dandora, Kenya. Her loan funded today! More on Eunice.
Eunice is 22 years old and sells snacks such as mandazis and samosas to neighbors and passerbys. She hopes to use the loan in order to increase her stock and buy flour and oil at wholesale prices, so she can make a profit. She has been in the business for 5 years. She is married and her husband is unemployed. They have three children who are 6, 8 and 9 years old. The oldest child is adopted.
She hopes to improve her business to educate her children and pay rent. She also hopes to someday become a supplier of her products to retail outlets. She describes herself as industrious and honest.
