U.S. Gamers Spent $25.3 billion in 2009

According to a report from research firm Newzoo, gamers in the United States spent $25.3 billion on games in 2009.  Around 40 percent of that went to used, mobile, or online games.  The estimate the number of people playing games in the U.S. is over 183 million players.

The report looked at spending on consoles, PC games, MMOs, virtual currency, used games, and mobiles.
