My physical world centers around Santa Cruz, California which is located on the left coast of United States right next to the Pacific Ocean.  I live and work in the Banana Belt section of Santa Cruz.  I have been living in Santa Cruz pretty much non-stop since 1982 (except for the time in Hong Kong and Chicago).  I graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz (1987) and can proudly say that I voted for its famous mascot -  the Banana Slug.
